VeggieHappy’s mission is to be everyone’s go-to reference guide for plant-based menu options in mainstream venues.
Our humble beginnings were based on a simple yet bold idea: get veggie hot dogs into Major League Baseball stadiums. At the time (circa early 2000’s), there were few if any vegan or vegetarian options offered in general concessions.
Enter VeggieHappy co-founder, Johanna McCloy, a plant-based food advocate, who decided to change this. She single-handedly launched a campaign that quickly went viral, attracting the support of sports fans and celebrities, as well as media coverage by major channels such as Sports Illustrated, ESPN Radio, USA Today, and the Los Angeles Times. Her Soy Happy campaign successfully introduced veggie dogs at 28 out of 30 MLB parks.
VeggieHappy has since consulted with sports venues across MLB, NFL, NBA, MLS, and other leagues, and has helped thousands of fans to find and purchase the plant-based menu options offered there. Our online guide features over 110 professional sports venues throughout the United States and Canada.
What Our Fans and Partners Say
VeggieHappy to the rescue! I always consult VeggieHappy when my wife and I take our two kids to the ballpark. I also use it on my business trips.
What a great honor being the Most Vegan-Friendly MLB Ballpark for 2016-17 (from PETA). VeggieHappy was a big help along with our Texas Rangers vegan fans to make this happen. Who would ever have thought a ballpark in Texas could win this award. We appreciate all our fans and their ballpark food experience is important to us.
Globe Life Park
VeggieHappy has encouraged and assisted me in adding menu items, which we have continued to increase every season. [VeggieHappy] makes it competitive between ballparks, which is cool. It’s like, ‘Who’s got the most vegetarian choices?’
Oracle Park (SF Giants)
Johanna McCloy is a vegan food industry pioneer . . . I highly recommend VeggieHappy for anything to do with pioneering business, sales, and vegan foods.
Field Roast Grain Meat Company
My son and I love going to major and minor league baseball games in the NY/NJ/PA area. Discovering VeggieHappy was like a godsend.
East Brunswick, NJ
VeggieHappy is where it all began for the Texas Ranger’s Ballpark Vegan cart. I love attending games with my boyfriend or a group of girlfriends.
My husband and I love visiting MLB ballparks. VeggieHappy helps me figure out what I can eat at any stadium. Seeing what vegan/vegetarian items baseball stadiums offer tells me which are veggie friendly and which need some encouragement to become so!
