Baseball season is here, and concession companies and ballparks are touting their vegan options for 2018. You’ll be able to check all MLB parks’ vegan menu listings on our venue guide. Meanwhile, here are some updates and media mentions we thought you’d enjoy.

Aramark, which operates food service for many professional sports venues, included its plant-based options in a national media release. “Food has become a major player in the fan experience and that increased role is a motivating factor for us to continue to enhance our menu offerings each season,” says Carl Mittleman, President of Aramark’s Sports and Entertainment division.

As part of Aramark’s Healthy for Life 20 By 20 initiative, and ongoing commitment to providing fans with greater variety, choice and access to healthier menu options, Aramark continues to expand vegan and vegetarian options in the ballparks it serves.

Greens and Grains (PNC Park) – Kale, spinach, roasted corn, carrots, quinoa, brown rice, cranberries and sunflower seeds, tossed in a Sriracha-carrot dressing.

The Impossible Burger (Citi Field) – Plant-based vegetarian burger, made to order.

Un-Tuna Salad (PNC Park) – Chick pea salad made with celery, pickle relish, onions and sweet mayo dressing, served on wheat bread with spinach.

Vegan Cauliflower Cheesesteak (Citizens Bank Park) – Roasted cauliflower, poblano peppers, onions, vegan cheese sauce and vegan roll.

Vegan’Acho Nacho (Rogers Centre) – Red and white tortilla chips topped with vegan cheese, black beans, guacamole and pico de gallo.

Ballpark fare has come a long way since the introduction of veggie dogs.

The Texas Rangers‘ Globe Life Park also highlighted their new vegan options for the media. (Numerous television, print, and digital media covered this.) Options offered at their popular Ballpark Vegan stand now include Vegan Nachos Grande, pictured above, as well as Vegan Top N Go Frito Pie, Vegan Wrap with Beyond Chicken, Vegan Chili, Vegan Burger, Vegan Dog, and more.

The Oakland A’s’ Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum continues offering vegan franks and burgers from Field Roast, and has also introduced the Bay Area-based vegan Impossible Burger to their options in 2018. They are offering two versions of this burger with meat/dairy toppings, but are planning a fully vegan third version, as well. (This was covered by several media channels. Read the CNBC coverage)

The Seattle Mariners announced a Vegan Night event at Safeco Field on Thursday, May 17 (vs the Detroit Tigers). The announcement starts: “Enjoy a special pregame event with vegan ballpark fare on the Lookout Landing when you purchase through this special offer.”  (Click on the link above for more information and to purchase tickets.) You’ll likely meet folks from Seattle-based Field Roast at the event, too. That’s the brand that Safeco Field serves.

Minor League ballparks are also highlighting their plant-based fare. This is the Charleston RiverDogs’ Vegan Dog with Black Bean and Corn Relish, as pictured in the Charleston City Paper.
